This is what we're going to make




so here it is:

Step one:
Open a document in RGD mode at 72 ppi.Choose a dark bleu as you Foreground color, thenType tool to create your type (in this example,I used Gloucester MT Extr... at 200 points).

Step two:
Switch your Foreground color to a ligtherShade of blue (kind of a powder blue).In the Layers palette, Control-click on your Type layer to put a selection around your type.Next, create a new blank layer by clicking on the New Layer icon at the bottom of the Layers palette.

Step three:
Go under the Select menu, under Modify, and choose Contract. When the Contract dialog appears, enter 2 pixels, and click OK,Then press Option Alt-Backspace to fill your contracted selection with light blue.

Step four:
Deselect by pressing Ctrl-D.Duplicaat this layer by dragging it on to the New Layer icon at the bottom of the Layer pateltte.Go under the filter menu, under Blur, and choose Graussian Blur.When the dialog box appears, enter 3 pixels, and click OK to apply a slight blur that’s primarily visible on the inside of your type.

Step five:
Choose Bevel and Emboss from the Layer Styles pop-up menu at the bottom of the Layers palette.When the dialog appears for Style, choose EmbossIcrease the Depth to 300 and size to 12.Under Shading, increase the Highlight Opacity to 100% and decrease the Shadow Opacity to 40%.Change the Shadow Mode to Color Dodge, click on the back color Swatch, change the shadow color to white and the click OK.

Step six:
In the Layers palette, click on the Eye icon beside the Background layer to hide it from viewThen, choose Merge Visible from the palette’s drope-down menu (shift+ctrl+E).Choose Drop Shadow from the palette’s pop-up Styles menu and click OK to apply a drop shadow and complete the effect.
