Movie Prime Fire, Beginner - Intermediate Options

It has been a while since I’ve been active on this sit, but here is another photoshop tutorial.
For this tutorial I used CS, but below will also do ( just replace the movie prime for a normal lens flare). Let’s begin:

Start out with a new document, I’ll be using a 500 x 500 document with a transparent background.

Reset your colours ( D ), and fill the layer with black ( Alt + Backspace).
Now make 4 or 5 movie primes (Filter => Render => Lens Flare, and choose Movie Prime).
Make sure there is enough space between them. (If you are a PS 7.0 or below user, you can use lens flare).

Now go to Shear (Filter => Distort => Shear), and make sure it looks like this:



Desaturate the image (Ctrl + Shift + U), and duplicate the image.

Select the top layer and go to Chrome ( Filter => Sketch => Chrome). Use the settings :
Detail: 0
Smoothness: 10
Now select the background layer and apply an Radial Blur (Filter => Blur => Radial Blur), and use Best (quality) , Zoom (Blur Method) and 61 (Amount), so you can still see the lines from our Movie Primes, and set the Blending mode of the top layer to Linear Dodge, and Merge ( Ctrl + E)

Create a new Layer and add some clouds to it (Filter => Render => Clouds). Now go to Bas Relief ( Filter => Sketch => Bas Relief), and use these settings:
Detail: 15
Smoothness: 10
Light :bottom
Now add chrome to it ( Filter => Sketch => Chrome), with the same settings as in step #4.

#5-1 (additional)
This step isn’t needed, I don’t know why I always use it, but I just put it in here….
Go to Edit => Transform => Perspective, and drag the lower corners so you get a looking-out-over-the-sea picture.

Image => Rotate Canvas => 90 CW, apply an wind from the left ( Filter => Stylize => Wind),
And put the image back in original position (Image => Rotate Canvas => 90 CCW)

There now are several Blending Modes you can use, Colour Dodge, Overlay and Vivid Light.
I’ll be using Colour Dodge , ‘cause of the brightness off the Primes, but it is of course, your own decision. Last, press Ctrl + E to merge.

The colouring part:
Press Ctrl + U to bring up the Hue / Saturation window, press Colorize, and use these settings:
Hue : 35
Saturation : 90
Lightness : 0
Duplicate the image, and put the Blending Mode to Screen. Now press Ctrl + B to bring up Color Balance, go to shadows, and in the left most , put in +30.

That’s it. Remember, this tutorial is just something to experiment with. While I was writing this tutorial, I already found 3 other things you can do with it , or change, to get a totally different outcome.
