Tutorial to show you the following effect:



1) First draw a triangle civering the path you want the lightbeam to cover, name the shape MASK.

2) Add a small rectangle on top of it, like this:



3) Add a move effect where you do two things; you move the rectangle down and you make it grow. I used the following settings but its up to you to play with it ofcourse!

click for the settings

4) Group the two shapes as a sprite and tick the 'use bottom object as mask' for the sprite.
