We are going to achieve:

Filter -> Sketch -> Note Paper...

For you to get these colors, make sure that your foreground color is black and the background color is white.

Second step:

Turning up the contrast so we get black: Image -> Adjustments -> Brightness/Contrast...

The last step was just covering the unwanted white areas with the pencil tool.

There are many images you can play with and get fantastic results. For example try this on a smoke image... You'll get a tribal look and so forth. Hope you enjoyed this quick and efficient tutorial Tip-Hat.gif Waiting for your results in this thread.

Threshold works fine too, this is another approach with a nicer result I think biggrin.gif

Reminded me of Scarface Movie Poster Look but the effects are very different.

I also remember Red's tut thumbsup.gif . Will be waiting for other results too. I find this a fun and quick way to get this look... Any other method I tried took a lot longer to achieve...

I thought you have done ths using Threshold tool. Thanks for this. Will be great for Displacement maps.
