Twirl in Text Effect

Here is the image you are making:

1) Open up a new photoshop document.

2) Take out the text tool. Write your text in a fancy font, I used 'Bolide'. Make it what ever size you need, but try to make it big so you can see the effect.

3) Duplicate the layer.

4) Rasterize the duplicated layer.

5) CTRL+Click the duplicated layer.

6) Go Filter>Texture> Texturizer
Use these settings:

7) While its still selected, Go Filter>Distort>Twirl
Use these settings:

8) Press CTRL+U for the Hue and Saturation. Pick a color.

9) Go back to the first text layer. Add a stroke and an outer glow with 100% spread, opacity and blend mode normal. Also add a texture or color as your background for the text.
