I would love to comment but wow thats dark on my screen all I can make out is a desk.
BooGieMen
Well i like it !!!

Only thing what bothered me a bit is... where is the light coming from it's kinda in a strange angle... also maybe lighting it up a bit more so people can see even more ??

Maybe also a little lightswitch next to the door ?

Nice work, Adrian. smile.gif

It is a bit dark, but that's apparently how you wanted it... and I really don't mind it, so no complaints there. But... the walls do seem as though they are hovering ever so slightly over the floor. Also, I'd shrink the books on the shelf down a bit... reduce their thickness and hight to make them appear more realistic. And reducing the thickness of the picture frame would look more realistic, as well.

I've personally never used a 3D program, and wouldn't know where to begin if I did try, so real nice work... especially considering the complexity in rendering a 3D image from scratch. thumbsup.gif

never knew you used that program, first creation?

if so nice work! I'm no pro so really dont know about the level you need in order to create something like this but it looks good to me smile.gif

Nice modeling and texturing bigwink.gif

Thumbs up!

well done mannever used cinema 4d in my life so wouldnt know how it works haha but looks great, maybe add a table lamp on the desk would look great.
Adrian
It didnt look dark on my screen at home but having looked at it on a few LCD screens and other screens I have noticed it is very dark. I have amde a brighter version which is much more visible. I'll upload it when I get home.

I think I might add a few extra details like a lamp on the table. The picture frame does seem a bit thick so I'll make it thinner.

I realised that the walls look like they are hovering above the floor but they arent. They start well under the floor so there is nothing I can do about that. I'll post the new version when I get hom.

EDIT: No it iisnt my first render, just the first time I have ever done a proper scene.

EDIT number 2!: Working on the new version, will include smaller more detailed books, more stuff on and in the shelfs of the desk, more light, smaller picture frame, messed up bed(maybe). Hope you like the new one, I'll get it online as soon as possible.

Thanks for the comments. dance.gif

Well, I think it is very good work. The shadowing and everything looks good to me... Nice job.. !!

Very nice... there are a few little details I would like to comment on even though I don't have a clue how to work in a 3d program. I do a lot of rooms like this on my Market but use only Swish Max.
The carpet texture gets a bit too large... it is a great texture to use and looks nice but I would not use such an expanded perspective so that the texture maintains a reasonable size.

The desk... I moved the window from one screen to another just to make sure... but the right side of the desk is leaning a bit.... :-) The left side is perfect but the side the light is on has a few loose screws. :-))

The lamp cone is too thick but should be turned down toward the paper anyway so that won't hardly show.

The books on the shelf need some sort of tags...lettering or something.

I like the way you did the light where only a bit of the table and chairs show in the next room!!

I also like the way you did the shadows and lighting. I would like to see a light in the lamp on the desk. :-)

Overall I'd say it is a great little room Adrian! Nice job!

Now Pamela, don't be too critical. It is so hard to see our own mistakes. I know myself that I can never get things aligned or angled just right no matter how hard I try... and often don't see an error till it's been posted for awhile. I know bloody well my TV shelving and my window in my new Valentine movie is not totally right.. but I keep telling myself that the inspector won't be around to cite me ... and after all it is only a cartoony thingy....LOLO. Thats why it is good to have other eyes look at it. I agree his carpet pattern is too big... but in the whole gammit of things... it is a darn good job... !!

Take for example your piano in your coffee shop on your Pitty Patter Baby Face place... to me it looks like the end of the piano is sitting on the window ledge.... when actually there is no ledge it is just the edge of the carpet... the piano is just not leveled. I think that back leg has to come down some too. Your bookshelves are about as aligned as mine are.... !!!! LOL The bottom three shelves don't look right. I don't think we'd pass the engineering exam.
I see three other things that could use correcting too.... but you know what... ? Not a one of us is perfect and I put myself on the top of that list.... !!!

Incidentally, I'd call the exterminator if I were you cause you got mice in that there complex..... !!! LOLO
By the way, I've always loved that little lamp of yours !!! Too bloody cute.

LOL!! Corinne! I see you have not lost your sense of humor girl! yahoo[1].gif And yes I know my mechanical skills, like yours are in need of some drafting classes!!! but HEY HE ask for a critique! I was trying to give him one! :-) I know when I ask for one I want the truth not just pats on the back, right? And I was not too harsh...... I told him it was a great job!

Adrien, You did great Dear! REALLY! just ignore us old women! LOL

Ah HA! Corinne, so you have been sneeking around the Market have you!? *grin* Yeh that pesky little mouse just loves to steal things !! We are still trying to find a name for the little thief! LOL

Very nice,I'm speechless.

Wow this topic is 2 years old! I'll see if I can find the source file for this render. If I can I'll try and do something to improve it!

Yes I totally agree. I also think the colour is wrong. I'll see what I can do!

The desk is perfectly right angled to the carpet/wall. I think it is just the viewing perspective. I might change the camera angle slightly.

Definitely a good idea!

This is purely because I rushed it and couldn't be bothered to texture any labels. I'll see what I can do.

Thank you! I couldn't be bothered to model the whole of the second room!

I shall see how it fits in!

Thanks for the criticism. Like I said above. I will see if I can dig out the old file and improve it somewhat!

EDIT: Well I can't find any of my Cinema 4D files on my computer but I have backup CDs and DVDs everywhere so I'll see if I can find something on one of them.
EDIT 2: Went through about 30 CDs and DVDs but couldnt find anything. Had one DVD with all my Cinema 4D stuff (more or less) and the only thing missing was this! Bit annoyed really because I never really did anything as good as this again! Oh well.... these things happen!

That really cool victory.gif

Good Work !

Few Suggestions,

1. Table Lamp need to be modeled again or removed ..it looks ODD
2. I would set the UVW warping in the ground plane texture to a high value...
3. some more bump for textures (chair texture)
4. Would use a Cloth animation to make the bed sheets look more real (yes i agree its very hard to model it... but i never used cinema 4D..hope its possible)
5. The chair in left need to be adjusted. it looks like its off the ground.
6. some DOF to the camera will do the rest
7. Need to improve lighting.. cause i see shadows are 2 sided.. if you look closely the table casts shadows both ways

Very good Attempt.. Work on it..use VRAY for lighting.. your modeling is good thumbsup.gif
