You will learn how to create a spiral galaxy here...

§tep 1: Open a new 400 x 400 document. Click "D" to reset your colors and fill the document background with black.


§tep 2: Filter >> Render >> Lens Flare
Brightness: 100%
105 mm Prime
Put it in the middle of your document

§tep 3: Filter >> Stylize >> Wind
Method: Wind
Direction: From the right


§tep 4: Filter >> Stylize >> Wind
Method: Wind
Direction: From the left

§tep 5: Image >> Rotate Canvas >> 90 CW


§tep 6: Repeat steps 3 and 4

§tep 7: Filter >> Distort >> Twirl
Angle: 400

§tep 8: Click ctrl + u (Hue/saturation) Check the "colorize" box and experiment with different colors.

I did:
Hue: 245
Saturation: 20
Lightness: 0
