Sorry but it seems like the only tutorial I can do has to do with some kind of sphere. Anyways if you want something that sort of looks like a disco ball check out this tutorial.
1) Create new project 500x500. Hit D to reset your foreground/background.
2) Edit>fill>black
3) filter>render>lens flare. 100% brightness, 105,, Prime
Put a lens flare in each corner and in the middle.
4) filter>sketch>chroms>default settings
5) filter>distort>polar coordinates>polar to rectangular. Hit ctrl f twice
6) filter>artistic>plastic wrap>
highlight strength 19
detail 11
smoothness 9
7) hit ctrl+u to change hue and saturation. select the colorize box. Then choose these settings
hue 200
saturation 62
8) layer>duplicate layer
9) filter>artistic>dry brush
brush size 7
brush detail 10
texture 2
10) change blending mode on your duplicate layer to overlay
11) layer>merge down or hit ctrl+e
12) filter>pixalize>crystallize
cell size 3
13) filter>stylize>extrude
select pyramids
size - 5 pixels
depth - 5 and select random
14) filter>distort>polar coordinates>rectangular to polar
15) filter>distort>spherize>100%
You should get something like this


I think this'll be my last "orb" type tutorial. I'm pretty sure you're getting sick of them already! I know I am. I just wanted to get that one in before I started something new.
