Awesome Gabrielle. I like it....alot Tip-Hat.gif

If I could suggest just one thing.... and alot of people are forgetting/or not wanting to do it.... and that is to create a shadow layer before using the shear filter. It gives it more realism. The "photo" is bending (kewl).... but the shadow normally wouldn't..... Hmmmmmmmm.... maybe this is just me.

Thanks so much for the comments. And I must give you credit for introducing me to these OOB's... Kewl. If I hadn't of been impressed by your works, I probably wouldn't have tried one of these flowers.gif

Regards,
spd

* I have tried to show a really quick example of what I was trying to say. I hope you dont mind me changing your pic.... let me know k if it's alright

neat effect bigwink.gif

just testing my brand new CS2 9.0, two images merged - girl (extracted) and tiger with background, several layers used.

p.s.
used little bit different technique, but the result is (almost) the same.

Thanks, i just realized that that was my older one, and the shadow for my arm isn't very good. so far, i love it here, it's an awesome site.
spdfreak_95
Glad to hear you critique your own work........ victory.gif

try and give your hand shadow a Gaussian Blur and perhaps lower the opacity of all the shadows victory.gif

Wow, thank you spd. i'm trying to find more pictures that i can do this with so i can try something more extreme than just an arm sticking out, and maybe something like your roller coaster one.
wazz
that's nice, I lke this forum smile.gif
DeepShallows
Here's another one. i jutted the shadow down and to the right to make it more of a real shadow by being off the the side, and i made a gradient from the top left to bottom right (clear to black) and lowered the opacity to around 50 to give it a more photo look, and to give the picture a shadow in the lower right corner. i also used the elliptical marquee tool for the glare and just made an oval. unfortunatly, the picture itself doesn't look that 3D, i'm pretty much just coming out of it which doesn't look as cool. oh, and by the way...it's me pretending to "breakdance" Doh.gif
island_BEEF007
i have a question with spdfreak_95. how do u get the roller coaster to come out of the picture then connect into the next picture...if there any tutorial for that?

i might be able to answer this, but not to the full extent of what spd could explain. he extracted the part of the rollercoaster that's coming out, and made the frames around the other parts that are inside the 'picture', but erased the white that are over where it's supposed to be popping out of the frame. and by just selecting the picture parts separately, you can just shear that, then try to match up the two parts the best you can. i hope that helps. just ask if you have any more questions.
spdfreak_95
I was wondering if someone might ask me this question..........

This one might be a bit hard to explain...... so please bare with me.

The pervious answer is correct... ie By extracting the BG etc.
But the white border around each of the photos was the part that was "Sheared", not the "Photos" themselves......... Still with me here?"........ This gave the illusion that I had put a bend on the photo
I then used the white sheared border curve to erase, via a mask, the "photo" content to give the illusion of having an upward/downward bend in the photo/s.
I also used a soft brush to paint the shadow under the rollercoaster....... gave it a Gaussian Blur, and dropped the opacity down to around 20-30 (I cant remember to tell you the truth..... So I'm guessing LOL..... but I'm sure you get the idea).

And that's about it

Regards,
spd
DeepShallows
here's one i tried to make like your's spd, and it was really hard. please critique it, because i know there are many things that are messed up or can be improved.
spdfreak_95
Another Grand example you have done DeepShallows smile.gif Well Done with your effort it looks really good..... and I'm sure it's an indication of what's to come.

The only critique that's stands out for me is the lining up of the centre image with the other two.... It doesnt appear to link cleanly..... or this maybe just me.

Either way... I like it, and I'm impressed at your talent. Thumbs up!

Regards,
spd
DeepShallows
Tip-Hat.gif yeah, i sheared the whole image (the two end ones) but not the middle, so i had to try to match those up. next time i'll just shear the frame so it will match up. since this was the first one of this kind of oob (something connecting the two images) i wasn't sure of all of the way to make the layers and such. also, if anyone has an image that they think this would work well with, please send it to me, because i'm having lots of trouble finding good images (i really want one with like, two kids, and one shooting the other kid with a squirtgun, but a squirtgun with a big stream of water). thank you.
