In this tutorial I wish to explain to you the process of creating an ID security Card. In this example I will be creating an ID card for Venus Smith, Security Director for 13dots Security.

You can also grab this in our RSS Feed :: Here ::

Photo Credits to Trueer as I have used her photo.

You'll hopefully have a similar result to this:

Step 1

Create a new 500 x 500 document

Step 2

Create a ID card shape using the "Rounded Rectangle" tool with a radius of about 4px.

Step 3

Duplicate this layer and give it the following blending options.

Note: You see the Fill is set to 0% opacity.

The gradient should be similar to this one:

Step 4

Add the title of the "company" and the logo like this:

Notice that the logo is set to 50%

Step 5

It's time to add the passport-type photo. Resize it so it's the correct size (refer to picture below) and add the stroke as seen below:

Step 6

Time to add some more text!
I added name, DOB, Sector and Clearnace Level. You can add whatever you want. As you can see I added the person's job before their name in a bigger font.

Step 7

Add a black rectangle that will be the "magnetic" strip which will give you the access to top-secret locations bigwink.gif

Step 8

Just to give it some more appeal and realostic look, select all the layer and rotate them a bit as seen below:

Then add a drop-shadow:

And you're done and you should now have something like this:

Cool tut. It's really easy to follow (like the credit card tut).
With the id and the credit cards you can impress even more your buyer, personalizing for him not only his site, bussines card, but also a credit card an an id card for his employes.

Just mimic the positions in the images, they don't have to be pixel perfect - or if you want to learn something new then experiment with how they go, try out methods that are different to what I said..
