PhotoShop CS2 Tips And Goodies
Migrating to PhotoShop CS2

I have noticed that a lot of people don't realise that 3D Transform Filter is missing in "FILTERS" menu of PS CS2.

Some of them realised it, but - are they completely right?

example 1
example 2

(both examples found on http://www.pixel2life.com which has a great selection of tutorials, might be there are more tutorials like those two, so I thought these tips might be of help to those migrating over. )

So, is it really missing ?

NO!

You can find 3D Transform filter on install CD (or in folder if you have tryout) here:
%PSCS2 source path%\Photoshop CS2\Goodies\Optional Plug-Ins\Filters\3D Transform.8BF

So, copy this file to:
%PSCS2 install path%\Photoshop CS2\Plug-Ins\Filters

usually it is:
C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop CS2\Plug-Ins\Filters

and now you have this lovely filter again smile.gif

Other interesting stuff is JPEG2000, can be found here:
%PSCS2 source path%\Photoshop CS2\Goodies\Optional Plug-Ins\Photoshop Only\File Formats\JPEG2000.8BI

copy this file to:
%PSCS2 install path%\Photoshop CS2\Plug-Ins\Adobe Photoshop Only\File Formats

usually it is:
C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop CS2\Plug-Ins\Adobe Photoshop Only\File Formats

Why JPEG2000?
read here and here

Also, have a better look in folder goodies (in source CD or folder) and you will see many interesting things;)

Some more great news is - most of 3rd party filters for PS7 can be used in PS CS2, only you have to do is - copy them from PS7 Plug-ins folder to PS CS2 Plug-ins folder.
