Full Version: Create A Doorhanger

In this tutorial I am going to teach you how to make a cool door hanger for your bedroom door. Or if you're a hotel/motel owner you can make these for your rooms! Please note these images have been downsized for web used.

Step 1

The first step is to create a canvas to the following specifications:

Step 2

The second step is to change the background to a neutral grey, this is so you know which parts to cut out, if your door hanger is going to be grey make it a different colour victory.gif

Step 3

It's time to create the shape of the door hanger. To do this you create a perfect circle, with the Elipse Tool (U), that has the same diameter as the width of the canvas. Fit it in place like so:

Step 4

To create the bottom part of the door hanger just create a Rectangle using the Rectangle Tool (U) like you see in this image

Step 5

Now you need a hole for the door handle to fit through so you just create a circle that you know will be just a bit bigger than circumference of the handle. Like below:

Step 6

Now you can add any decorations that you wish to add, I added a SHH! For when I’m sleeping (or browsing 13dots) and don't want to be disturbed and a cute mouse showing SHH.

Step 7

Print, cut out and hang!

Here are some more examples, please note these are also downsized for web use, yours will be much bigger.

Does anyone has some more examples to use for this tut: other text, graphics,...

Well I used the mouse, I guess that's counted as a render/stock. If you mean an abstract one then no. The only example I have are the ones up there ^

The idea is really to be creative and just go WILD
